Yellow Door Energy, a renewable energy provider operating in the Middle East and Africa, reported its 2024 performance results. The company added 32.7 megawatts-peak (MWp) to its portfolio, which includes acquiring five operational projects in Oman.
In 2024, the company commissioned 27 solar energy projects across the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, and South Africa. Its newly installed solar plants include 61,500 solar panels using rooftop, ground-mounted, and carport solar systems. Over 550,000 person-hours were invested in these projects.
The company’s current portfolio includes over 350 MWp of solar energy projects. These projects are either operational, under construction, in planning, or have been awarded. Yellow Door Energy develops solar projects using solar leases or power purchase agreements (PPAs). These models allow businesses to adopt solar power without upfront costs, reducing electricity expenses while transitioning to renewable energy.
In 2024, the company issued two reports, its sustainability report and its second carbon footprint report. The reports detail its renewable energy initiatives and focus on reducing emissions in its operations.
Yellow Door Energy organized seven educational workshops across the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, and South Africa. These included “Project Daw” in Jordan, which provided solar power training for 20 youths and installed a solar system at a community center in Mafraq, and a solar plant tour in Bahrain for students.
To date, the company’s operational projects have generated 842,000 megawatt-hours of electricity. This has reduced carbon emissions by 328,000 metric tons.
In Dubai, UAE, several other renewable energy projects are ongoing. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park aims to produce 5,000 MW by 2030. In Egypt, the Kom Ombo Solar Plant and small-scale residential solar programs continue to expand. The Zaafarana wind farm and projects near the Red Sea contribute to Egypt’s renewable energy mix.
