Sustainability Forum Middle East (ME) has announced Foulath Holding as a partner for its third annual edition. The event is scheduled for January 28-29, 2025, in Bahrain. It will be held under the backing of Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Bahrain’s Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs. The Supreme Council for Environment is supporting the Forum.
The Forum will focus on discussions related to climate and energy resilience. It will bring together over 400 participants, including policymakers, business leaders, and experts from various industries. The agenda aims to address the region’s efforts to transition toward net-zero emissions through cross-sector discussions and investment.
Foulath Holding, an industrial holding company with investments in the steel sector, will participate in discussions about industrial decarbonization. The company has indicated its focus on integrating environmental practices and efficiency measures in its operations. As a steel producer in the region, Foulath will provide insights on the role of heavy industries in reducing emissions.
The Forum will focus on areas such as financing for climate initiatives, policies and regulations, and the role of technology in renewable energy and sustainability efforts.
The Forum is part of a larger regional effort to accelerate renewable energy adoption and address climate change. Middle Eastern countries have launched initiatives to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. For example, the UAE has developed large renewable projects, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park and the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant. Saudi Arabia is advancing projects like NEOM and green hydrogen initiatives. Bahrain has focused on solar energy and green building standards.
