The second annual Green Hydrogen Summit, hosted by Masdar as part of the World Future Energy Summit, is set to convene on April 16, 2024. This summit aims to propel the global green hydrogen economy forward and facilitate the transition to clean fuels.

This will bring together international experts, industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs, the event will focus on accelerating the development of the green hydrogen sector. Discussions will revolve around the latest industry trends, innovative pathways, and key developments necessary to scale up green hydrogen production and utilization.

Under the theme “Building the Hydrogen Economy: From Dialogue to Reality,” the summit will feature fireside chats, high-level panels, and outcome-focused working sessions. Participants will explore various aspects of the green hydrogen value chain, including production, conversion, transport, storage, and utilization.

As major economies worldwide strive to decarbonize, the summit will delve into the industries with the highest demand for green hydrogen and examine the leading economies and regions driving the emerging green hydrogen market. Additionally, discussions will touch upon government policies and investment frameworks aimed at facilitating the growth of hydrogen economies and global trade.

Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, emphasized the importance of green hydrogen in the journey towards net-zero emissions and sustainable energy transition. Masdar aims to become a leading global producer of green hydrogen by 2030, supporting Abu Dhabi’s Low-Carbon Hydrogen Policy announced during COP28.

Masdar has been actively engaged in various green hydrogen projects, collaborating with international partners to develop power-to-X projects and explore innovative solutions for decarbonizing industrial processes. Partnerships with companies such as INPEX, Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, OMV, Hy24, Emirates Steel Arkan, and TotalEnergies demonstrate Masdar’s commitment to advancing green hydrogen initiatives globally.

The summit agenda will cover regulatory frameworks, innovation, and sustainable finance, crucial for shaping a sustainable energy landscape. The event will take place at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi and will be livestreamed for wider participation.
