Arab Consulting Office (ACO), Sungrow, Tongwei, and Industrial and Renewable Solutions Company (IRSC) have signed a new agreement to begin work on solar energy projects in Egypt. These projects will collectively produce 75 megawatts (MW) of power using photovoltaic (PV) systems.
The new projects will be built in several locations across the country. They will support Egypt’s plans to grow its use of renewable energy. Tongwei will provide solar panels. Sungrow will supply inverters and energy storage technology. ACO will manage installation and serve as the local system integrator.
The 75 MW capacity will be used for both large-scale and industrial sites. The agreement builds on existing partnerships. ACO and IRSC have worked together on past clean energy installations. ACO has also partnered with Sungrow for several years, developing solar systems designed for local conditions.
The companies involved said that the collaboration is intended to contribute to the national goal of increasing renewable energy’s share in the power grid. Egypt has previously announced plans to reduce dependence on traditional energy sources.
IRSC stated that its work focuses on bringing clean energy solutions to industrial sectors. The company has delivered multiple solar power projects and plans to expand cooperation with both local and international groups.
Sungrow’s representative noted that the company’s technology will be used to support consistent energy output from the solar installations. Tongwei’s regional director added that their panels will be deployed to support the planned capacity and help scale solar energy in Egypt.
These projects are among several ongoing smaller renewable initiatives. ACO has also worked on rooftop solar units in areas like 6th of October City and Suez. These units range from 2 MW to 8 MW. They are used at commercial and industrial sites to lower grid demand.
