To boost the collaboration and gain insights into the leading global practices and experiences in various areas including renewable and clean energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), held a meeting with a delegation from the Hong Kong Ambassadors Club.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA met Jeffrey Lam, Co-Founder and Director of the Hong Kong Ambassadors Club, as well as a distinguished Member of the Legislative Council and Executive Council of the Hong Kong SAR Government. They discussed about the leading global practices and experiences in various areas, including smart city technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), smart logistics, big data, robotics, renewable and clean energy, supply chain, and startups. The delegation, consisting of 15 entrepreneurs specialising in smart city technologies, exchanged views on various topics and discussed about exploring opportunities for cooperation and exchange knowledge with DEWA. Patrick Tsang, Founder and Chairman of Tsangs Group and Hong Kong Ambassadors Club also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Al Tayer highlighted the possible scenarios for enhancing cooperation between the UAE and Hong Kong, with a particular focus on innovative technologies in areas like renewable and clean energy, energy storage, smart grids, and water. In addition, both parties explored opportunities to strengthen economic relations and promote joint investments across diverse sectors such as energy, water, and infrastructure.
Al Tayer also highlighted achievements of DEWA by dwelling on significant projects, initiatives, and programs aimed at promoting sustainability across all sectors. He stressed on UAE’s goal of sustainability and becoming a global center for a green economy and a role model for environmental protection, green transformation, and the widespread adoption of clean and renewable energy sources.
