Solar manufacturer Sharp Energy Solutions Europe has delivered 900 units of NB-JD550 bifacial solar panels to Egypt. The initiative is a part of a project launched by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). The project has been introduced with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Japan. Jordan has witnessed a 10% decline in the number of applications for licenses related to electricity and renewable energy during the first nine months of 2023 as compared to the last year. Data released by the Jordan Energy and Minerals Authority discloses that there were 257 applications for licenses in various fields of electricity and renewable energy, down from 285 during the same period in the previous year. Sharjah will soon get its largest solar plant. The plant will be developed by United Arab Emirates Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), the executive oil and gas entity of Sharjah, and Emerge, the joint venture between Masdar and EDF Group.
