The Egyptian Cabinet has approved projects proposed by Dubai-based AMEA Power LLC to install 1 GW of solar and 500 MW of wind capacity in the country. According to a Cabinet statement, AMEA Power will   ploy 1 GW of solar panels in Aswan Governorate of Egypt. While, the 500-MW wind project will be located in Ras Ghareb, Red Sea Governorate. Standard Chartered, an international bank, has announced issuing its first-ever green guarantee for China Energy Engineering Shanxi Electric Power Engineering Company (CEEC-SEPEC) in Oman. Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) has invited developers and developer consortiums to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the development of a new Khazna Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Independent Power Project (IPP) in Abu Dhabi. Through its subsidiary Menorah Synergy, Israel’s solar developer Teralight has delivered and inaugurated a 31 MW floating solar PV energy project that floats above Kibbutz Maayan Zvi reservoirs in south Haifa.  As local reports, it is Israel’s largest floating project where the PV field covers a total area of approximately 587,000 square metres. The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) has disclosed that it is in a process to sell the Gabal El-Zeit wind farm to  Actis, a British direct investment company for $350m. As per the reports, the deal is expected to be finalised in early November after Actis completed the due diligence process and obtained the approval of the New and Renewable Energy Authority.
