The Ministry of Electricity in Iraq has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GE Vernova. The agreement outlines cooperation to develop up to 24 gigawatts (GW) of power using advanced gas turbine technologies, including H-class turbines. The signing took place in Baghdad and was attended by Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ Al-Sudani. Masdar, a renewable energy company based in the UAE, has signed two agreements with Indonesia’s state electricity company PT PLN (Persero). These agreements are focused on developing floating solar power plants in Indonesia. The first agreement is for a new project at the Jatigede Dam in West Java. The capacity being studied is around 2,000 megawatts (MW). Dubai is adding more solar power. DEWA, the city’s electricity and water provider, has started preparing for the seventh phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
