Seven Jordanian universities received a grant of £350,000 ($445,000) to support collaborative research projects in the fields of energy and healthcare. The funding comes from the ‘Industrial Scientific Research and Development Fund’ under Jordan’s Higher Council for Science and Technology, in partnership with the British Royal Academy of Engineering. The World Bank’s board of executive directors has approved $40 million for Armenia’s transmission modernization. This fund is focused on the rehabilitation of power transmission substations, reforms to allow the country’s transmission company to access private financing, and the promotion of energy sector modernization. Dubai logistics company DP World has commenced work on a SAR900 million ($250 million) logistics park in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Islamic Port.
