Al Jalila Foundation and Positive Zero have joined forces to launch a groundbreaking solar power project at the Al Jalila Foundation’s premises in Dubai.
The project is spearheaded by SirajPower, which is a subsidiary of Positive Zero and a provider of distributed solar energy in the UAE. This project marks a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmental conservation in the region.
As per the 20-year solar lease agreement, SirajPower will install solar panels on the rooftops and carports of the Al Jalila Foundation, providing them with a sustainable source of clean electricity. This initiative is expected to generate 4,403 MWh of solar energy, resulting in a reduction of 3,121 metric tons of carbon emissions which is equivalent to planting nearly 51,600 tree seedlings.
Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, highlighted the partnership’s commitment to environmental sustainability and promoting a greener future. He emphasized how this initiative aligns with Dubai Health’s vision of advancing health for humanity by reducing carbon emissions and embracing clean energy solutions.
Positive Zero’s approach of offering clean energy as a service ensures that organizations like Al Jalila Foundation can benefit from renewable energy without the upfront costs. This model makes clean energy solutions more accessible to a wider range of organizations, driving the transition towards a more sustainable energy future. The founding companies of Positive Zero have already achieved notable progress in important GCC markets.
As per the firm, with more than 140 MWp, SirajPower has the largest distributed solar energy portfolio in the area. Furhtermore, over 100,000 MWh of energy savings have been realized by Taka Solutions in more than eight sectors. In addition, the first of its type in the area, HYPR Energy’s clean energy on-demand mobile battery unit has made cleaner, more affordable power available to off-grid locations like construction sites.
